Picture Maloney celebrates against St Johnstone.

FIVE-STAR CELTIC HIT SUMMIT

Marc-Antoine Fortune and Shaun Maloney both grabbed doubles as Celtic cruised to a 5-2 victory over St Johnstone in their Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash at Parkhead.

Fortune hit the net for the first time since his £3.8million move from Nancy in the 21st minute but after Shaun Maloney made it 2-0, Saints striker Collin Samuel pulled a goal back when he capitalised on a Gary Caldwell mistake to fire past Artur Boruc.

Goals from Maloney, Fortune and Scott McDonald after the break secured the points before Jody Morris scored a second for the visitors.

Derek Riordan's double ensured John Hughes' return to Falkirk was a happy one as Hibernian came from behind for the second straight week to maintain their 100% start to the season with a 3-1 victory.

Riordan struck twice after the break - his second a stunning free-kick - after Falkirk had dominated the first half.

On-loan Liverpool winger Ryan Flynn put them ahead but the outstanding Sol Bamba levelled against the run of play shortly before half-time.

Jim Gannon enjoyed a memorable Fir Park debut as Motherwell strolled to a comfortable 3-1 triumph over Kilmarnock.

John Sutton's well-taken goal got Motherwell off to a flying start and a Ross Forbes penalty increased their lead seconds before the interval.

Defender Shaun Hutchinson lashed home his second goal in successive games midway through the second half before Jamie Hamill grabbed a late consolation.

Chris Maguire's spectacular second-half volley sealed Aberdeen's 3-0 victory at Hamilton.

He connected sweetly with a cross from opening scorer Charlie Mulgrew to seal the three points with half an hour of the game remaining.

Mulgrew had put the Pittodrie side in front with a first-half free kick, and then fired in another set piece five minutes later from which Andrew Considine doubled the lead at the interval.

St Mirren and Dundee United shared the points when their clash ended in an uninspiring goalless stalemate.
