Livingston came from behind to pick up their first league win since December to close the gap on Dunfermline at the bottom to eight points.

Ross Tokely fired Inverness into a 16th-minute lead against the run of play but Richard Brittain equalised before the break.

The second half was a fairly tense affair but Colin Healy, in his first start, scored the winning goal 10 minutes from time to give manager John Robertson his first points since taking over at the helm two months ago.

Livingston knew what was required prior to kick-off and the hosts made a bright start to the game against Caley.

Inside the opening minute Brittain found Noel Whelan with an inch-perfect pass and the Englishman controlled the ball first time before unleashing a 20-yard right-footed shot which Mark Brown got down well to save.

Three minutes later Brittain then found Greg Strong from a corner but the defender's angled header was palmed behind by Brown.

The visitors' first shot on target came from an Alan Morgan free-kick from 25 yards but Roddy McKenzie made a comfortable save.

Barry Wilson then saw a powerful shot tipped behind for a corner as Inverness eventually found their feet.

From the resulting Richie Hart corner, Tokely rose high at the back post to head the ball into the gaping goal with McKenzie stranded to deal the hosts a severe body blow in the 16th minute.

However, Livingston levelled the score in the 37th minute through captain Brittain following great build-up play.

Morgan was dispossessed on the wing and after some neat intricate passing, Healy fed Whelan inside the box and the former Dons marksman picked out Brittain at the back post with a delicate cross and the midfielder bulleted his header past Brown.

The second period failed to match the same tempo as the first but Whelan was trying his best to influence proceedings.

Dave Mackay darted down the wing before crossing for the burly targetman, who had taken up a dangerous position at the front post, but his volley failed to find the target.

Harald Pinxten's blushes were then spared by defender Greg Strong after the Belgian lost possession in his own half in the 59th minute.

Dennis Wyness intercepted and rounded keeper McKenzie but his shot was brilliantly cleared off the line by Strong.

The game swing from end to end and Strong then popped up at the other box but his strike in a crowded penalty area cleared the bar.

After putting in a good shift in attack, Whelan had ran out of steam near the end and was replaced by former Inverness player Steve Hislop who had picked up a booking on the sidelines during the first half.

Hislop had nothing to do with Livingston's second goal moments later, however.

Brittain found Healy with a defence splitting pass in the 80th minute and the Irishman showed great composure to pass the ball past Brown into the net.

That was to be the Republic of Ireland international's last contribution as he was subbed minutes after firing the home side into the lead.
