Garry O'Connor struck in the dying seconds at Pittodrie to hand Hibernian all
three points and set another dismal record for Aberdeen.
The Easter Road forward picked up Scott Brown's pass on the halfway line and
bolted past a host of players before slamming a shot across Aberdeen goalkeeper
Ryan Esson's body into the far corner.
The Dons, who are set for a second-bottom finish in the Bank of Scotland
Premier League this season, have now lost to every top flight club this season.
The defeat was scant reward for Esson, who was looking for a clean-sheet on
his return to the side in place of David Preece.
But it was his opposite number Daniel Andersson who stole the show in the
opening stages.
The Swede pulled off good saves to deny both John Stewart and 16-year-old Ryan
O'Leary, who became the Dons' youngest ever player, eclipsing John Hewitt's
long-standing record.
Aberdeen created a great chance in the 28th minute when a lovely back-heel by
Paul Sheerin caught the Hibs defence cold.
This freed Stewart on the left of the penalty area, but the youngster seemed
to panic and snatched at his shot and Andersson saved.
O'Leary almost marked his top-flight debut with a fine headed goal, but was
denied by a wonderful save by Andersson when he was on hand to nod Scott
Morrison's free-kick towards the top corner.
However, Andersson threw himself at full stretch and plucked the ball from the
air.
Aberdeen kept the pressure on and had three chances in quick succession, but
were denied by some desperate Hibs defending.
Markus Heikkinen tested Andersson from the edge of the area, forcing the
goalkeeper to parry into the path of Stewart.
The 18-year-old could not find a way past the goalkeeper's legs and the ball
then broke to Bryan Prunty, who had a clear sight of goal.
His low drilled shot looked destined for the net, until Colin Murdock stuck
out a leg and deflected the ball away.
Aberdeen continued to stride forward and had a strong penalty claim refused on
the half-hour mark when Prunty's shot, from Stewart's low cross, appeared to
strike Murdock on the arm.
The referee took a long look at the incident, but opted to wave play on, much
to the annoyance of the Dons youngsters.
Hibs should have then grabbed the lead, against the run of play, when Scott
Brown found himself unmarked inside the penalty area after Aberdeen failed to
deal with an Alan Reid cross.
However, the youngster was far too casual with his finish and sent his shot
over the bar.
But the managerless Edinburgh side snatched all three points in dramatic
fashion, with an O'Connor strike in the final seconds.
The forward picked up Brown's pass on the halfway line and simply powered his
way past the Dons' defence before slotting past Esson.
