Dundee United manager Craig Levein could tie up a deal for trialist Jean-Hugues Ateba, with Paul Dixon on the sidelines.
Dixon is currently missing after injuring his knee earlier this month in the Tangerines' 1-1 draw at Hibs.
Although Dixon does not require surgery the left-back will still be unavailable to Levein for anywhere up to a month.
And former Nantes, PSG, and Chateauroux defender Ateba could be the beneficiary of a short-term deal as Levein is pleased with his progress.
"It looks like Dixon will be back within four weeks but Ateba has impressed so far," explained Levein.
