Barry Robson is relishing another home clash this weekend despite Celtic's poor Parkhead record this season and the growing frustration among their supporters.

In the past, a trip to the east end of Glasgow would have filled teams with trepidation, with the likes of AC Milan and Manchester United suffering defeat at Celtic Park in recent years.

However, this season has been a different story. Hearts were the most recent team to inflict misery on Tony Mowbray's men when they sent the holders crashing out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup in midweek.

The Hoops have now won just two matches in nine attempts at home, with 'fortress Parkhead' now in danger of losing its formidable reputation.

Less than 19,000 watched the defeat to Hearts, with some jeering the team at the final whistle.

Next up is Kilmarnock in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on Saturday and Robson claims he has no problem facing the Ayrshire club in front of their own fans.

"I'll play at home or away," he said. "It makes no difference to me.

"It's great to play in front our your own fans and the more of them there to watch and cheer you on, the better."

Celtic follow up the domestic action with a trip to Hamburg where they face the task of salvaging a disappointing Europa League campaign.

"The more games the better - that's what we are all looking for," said Robson.

"Hopefully we can start by scoring a few goals on Saturday because we know Kilmarnock are playing well.

"They are a decent outfit and they will make it hard for us. But we've got a good side that can break teams down and it's just a matter of time before we do."

Kilmarnock's last win at Celtic Park was back in 1955 and boss Jim Jefferies believes now is as good a time as any to end their wait for victory.

"It's got to happen someday," he said.

"Whether that day will be Saturday or not, I don't know.

"You used to go there in the past and, like at Ibrox, they had formidable teams and it was a case of damage limitation at times and you knew it would be difficult.

"I think a lot of the teams believe they have a better chance of getting a result now."

He added: "I always think the Celtic supporters right from the start get behind their team and they stick with them.

"It's really only at the end that they show their unhappiness. I've noticed it more at Ibrox than Parkhead. But that's the expectation levels at some clubs.

"We will try to use it to our advantage but you have to play well and work hard to get to that stage."
