Eggert Jonsson could make his first Hearts appearance for almost two months in Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League game at Aberdeen.
Iceland defender Jonsson has fully recovered from his hernia operation and goes straight into the squad for the trip to Pittodrie.
Gary Glen is fit again following a knee injury but fellow forward David Templeton misses out, despite being told he has avoided a recurrence of his broken foot, while Marius Zaliukas (ankle) is sidelined for up to another three weeks and Callum Elliot (knee) is also out.
Aberdeen defender Jerel Ifil will miss the clash having failed to overcome a hamstring injury, however Sone Aluko returns to the squad following his stint with Nigeria in the Under-20 World Cup.
Zander Diamond (ankle) and Davide Grassi (broken cheekbone) remain on the sidelines while Tommy Wright (knee) is not in contention despite returning to training.
