Morton moved to within four points of Scottish Division Three leaders East Fife with a 4-2 victory over Montrose.
In new boss John McCormack's first match, goals from Alex Williams, a Frank Conway own goal and Warren Hawke saw the hosts cruising at 3-0 with 13 minutes left.
Robbie Henderson gave them a major scare with a late brace (85 & 88) for Montrose, but Williams' second in the final minute sealed the victory in front of 1,748 fans.
Leaders East Fife played out a dull 0-0 draw with Stirling with the visitors stretching their unbeaten run to 10 games.
Second-placed Albion failed to capitalise, though, as they drew 1-1 with Elgin City.
Rovers went in front through Lee Duncan (49) but Ryan McMullan netted on 83 to earn his side a point.
Rock-bottom East Stirling showed all their fighting spirit by coming from 2-0 down after just 12 minutes to draw 2-2 with Gretna.
The hosts raced into the lead thanks to a brace from Steve Skinner (6 & 12) but Jordan Leishman (77) and a Kyle May own goal (89) ensured the visitors snatched a point.
In the day's other game, Queen's Park beat Peterhead 2-0.
James Allan (7) and Ross Clark (49) were the men on target.
