Stirling Albion had their hopes of promotion dented when held to a 1-1 draw at Montrose. Kevin Webster put the hosts in front after seven minutes but Stirling drew level thanks to a bizarre Grant Johnson own goal.
Leaders East Fife continue to ride high and thumped a feeble Elgin 4-0. Two goals each by James Herkes and Kenny Deuchar confirmed their dominance.
Peterhead lost ground on the leaders after being held 1-1 at home to Gretna.The hosts were ahead in the first minute thanks to a crisp finish by Martin Johnston but Gretna got back on terms on 27 minutes when Mark Dobie squeezed home from a tight angle.
Two late goals gave Albion Rovers a thrilling 2-1 success over Greenock Morton.
The latter were ahead after 37 minutes thanks to Phillip Cannie but constant Albion pressure paid dividends when Derek Collins (88) put through his own net and then Iain Diack (90) headed the winner.
East Stirling entertained Queens Park in the day's basement battle and the visitors romped to a 4-0 triumph.
James Allan (2), Jonney Whelan and Alan Dunning all found the target.
