Leaders East Fife took their time before
recording a convincing 4-1 win at lowly East Stirling.
The Fifers could not have made a worse start, however, and were a goal down after 11
minutes when Sean McAuley hit home a powerful shot.
Two minutes later, East Fife were level when Michael Hall struck the ball home
from a left-wing corner.
Shire then managed to frustrate their opponents until the 59th minute when
James Herkes crossed low into the box for Gordon Gilbert to tap the ball home.
The result was made to look emphatic when Kenny Deuchar extended the lead
eight minutes later and he then completed the scoring with 17 minutes left.
Two goals midway through the second half kept Peterhead second with a 2-0 home win over Albion Rovers.
The game appeared to be heading for a draw until the 74th minute, Andy Roddie pounced to score a scrappy goal after
Shearer failed to hold the ball.
Four minutes later, Tindal broke clear and lashed home the second goal from
the corner of the six-yard area.
Gretna dominated against visitors Elgin but had to settle for a 0-0 draw
despite creating several good chances in each half.
Striker Matt Henney was the main offender for the newcomers while Elgin's only real chance was when David Ross headed against the bar in the 73rd minute.
Stirling ended Morton's three-game winning streak to take their own unbeaten
run to five matches with a 2-0 home win.
Albion took the lead on 65 minutes when Robert Dunn crossed from the right, Steve Mallan flicked the ball on and
18-year-old David O'Brien headed his first goal for the club.
Albion made sure of victory four minutes from time. George Rowe picked out
Mallan, who set up Steven Nicholas to fire home from 10 yards.
