Falkirk retained their one-point lead over visitors Inverness after a pulsating
top-of-the-table 1-1 draw at Brockville.
Despite seeing their manager depart for Aberdeen in midweek, Caley scored after just 60 seconds.
Ross Tokeley sprinted down the right wing before delivering a low cross which
home defender Scott MacKenzie put past his own goalkeeper Alan Ferguson.
Falkirk levelled when Craig McPherson delivered an inch-perfect cross which
John Hughes dispatched with aplomb from eight yards.
St Mirren came from two down to dramatically beat bottom side Alloa 3-2 at the
Recreation Ground.
Scott Crabbe put the strugglers ahead after just nine minutes, curling in a
free-kick which left Saints keeper Kris Robertson stranded.
Steve Thomson looked to have given Alloa just a third win of the season with a
second goal on 61 minutes.
But Ricky Gillies converted the hotly-contested penalty 10 minutes later
before former Alloa striker Martin Cameron grabbed two after 73 and 84 minutes to seal
the victory.
Clyde returned to winning ways with a comprehensive first-half performance
against Arbroath as they won 3-0.
The home side took the lead on three minutes when Leigh Heinds held off a
challenge from Innes Ritchie to run onto a Willie Faulconer through ball and slot
home.
They doubled their advantage six minutes before the break when Simon
Mensing nodded home a Jack Russ corner from six yards.
And the home side got another before the interval when Ross exchanged passes
with John Frasier on the right hand side of the box before crossing low for Pat
Keogh to touch home from four yards out.
Alex Bone scored his first goal in over three months to earn Ross County a
1-0 victory over Ayr United.
Bone headed the only goal of the game in the 59th minute to help County pull
away from the relegation zone.
Two late goals gave St Johnstone a 2-2 draw against Queen of the South
at McDiarmid Park.
The visitors took the lead in the 12th minute when Eric Paton
rifled a superb left-foot shot past Alan Main.
The Queens extended their lead in the 73rd minute through Steve Bowey and
looked set to hang on for the three points.
But two goals in stoppage time earned Saints a point, when first Chris Hay
fired in after a goalmouth scramble and then in the third minute of injury time
Mark Reilly headed home to get his side out of jail.
