Ross County captain Kenny Gilbert grabbed a last-gasp goal as his side earned
a 1-1 draw to scupper Falkirk's 100% league record.
After controlling most of the first half the Bairns took the lead in the 58th
minute when Owen Coyle crashed home a Jamie McQuilken cut-back.
But County kept buzzing away and the home side grabbed a deserved equaliser in
the 88th minute when Gilbert forced his way through a ruck of players to steer a
Steve McGarry cross over the line from close range.
Alex Bone had the ball in the Falkirk net 10 minutes earlier after a sustained
spell of County pressure, but he was ruled offside.
St Johnstone made it six straight clean sheets in the league to maintain
Britain's best defensive record but could only manage a 0-0 draw with Ayr despite creating a host of chances.
Keeper Kevin Cuthbert has still to concede a goal in the league and he was
never troubled as Ayr did not test him once.
Saints won a host of corners as they dominated for long periods but they found
home keeper Craig Nelson in top form.
Nelson's best stop came from a Paul Hartley free-kick and when he was beaten
by a Ryan McCann header he was relieved to see Willie Lyle clear off the line.
Ayr's best effort came when keeper Cuthbert handled an Ian Maxwell back pass
but Paul Sheerin fired over from James Grady's free-kick.
Saints claimed a penalty with three minutes to go when Keigan Parker went down
under David Craig's challenge, but the sub was booked for diving.
Arbroath rescued a 2-2 draw against St Mirren at Gayfield when John Cusick
levelled from the penalty spot with only three minutes remaining.
Before that the home team could have been accused of throwing the match away
after taking the lead through Craig Feroz in the sixth minute.
The same player then had a couple of great chances to put his team further in
front but he failed to convert with only goalkeeper Ludovic Roy to beat.
St Mirren equalised just before half-time when Martin Cameron finished off a
clever Ian Ross chip.
Mark Yardley was introduced in the second half and made a quick impact when he
played a lovely through ball to Ricky Gillies who knocked the ball past Craig
Hinchcliffe.
It looked as though Arbroath were down and out but when Sergei Baltacha fouled
Feroz in the area, Cusick calmly knocked the ball home from the spot to give his
team a deserved point.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle notched up their fourth victory on the trot with a
3-1 stroll past an out-of-touch Queen of the South side.
They got off the mark in only the seventh minute when Bobby Mann headed a
corner from Richard Hart into the net.
And there was a carbon-copy in the 24th minute, only this time the scorer was
Dennis Wyness.
Thistle wrapped up the points three minutes into the second half when Wyness
headed home a cross from Ross Tokely, while Peter Weatherson snatched a
consolation for Queens 20 minutes from time.
Clyde ground out a goalless draw with Alloa in a poor match that did nothing
to suggest anything other than a relegation scrap awaits each side.
