Ayr United striker James Grady insists he will not become embroiled in any
further controversy with Rangers defender Lorenzo Amoruso.
The Italian lashed out at the former Dundee forward again on Sunday after the
defender had been called before the Scottish Football Association over an
alleged spitting incident.
Grady claimed Amoruso spat at him during the Scottish Cup fourth round tie
last weekend and an SFA review panel believe the former Gers skipper has a case
to answer after studying evidence.
But Amoruso is still protesting his innocence and branded Grady "a crazy
Celtic fan" after the 2-1 win at Livingston.
However, the Honest Men forward is now keeping his own counsel over the
incident.
Meanwhile, the SFA insist only the alleged spitting incident involving Amoruso
will be considered by their disciplinary committee despite his comments.
The Italian will appear before the committee on March 18.
SFA head of disciplinary matters, Drew Herbertson, said: "All the
disciplinary committee will be doing is considering his alleged act in that
match.
"Mr Amoruso has the opportunity now of responding formally to the Association
with regard to that charge.
"It is entirely up to him what he wishes to say to the Association."
But Amoruso, who scored the opening goal at the City Stadium, re-opened his
feud with Grady after the win at Livi.
Amoruso said: "This guy is crazy - I don't know what he is talking about.
"I have seen the video again and everybody could see I was clearing my nose
and I spat. But I did not spit at him.
"This guy was clever enough to go on TV and in the press and I have been
judged already by some people without even being tried.
"That is absolutely ridiculous because, right from the beginning, he tried to
do crazy things on the pitch - talking rubbish against myself.
"Everybody knows this guy is a Celtic fan - a crazy Celtic fan."
