Our SPL expert Gareth Friel is keen on Hibs striker Leigh Griffiths hitting the target again this weekend against Dundee.

The SPL returns after a two-week break in which proposals for a new Scottish football structure were revealed and Gordon Strachan was appointed as manager of the national team.

St Mirren and Ross County get the weekend action under way at lunchtime on Saturday followed by four 3pm kick-offs and Motherwell's clash with St Johnstone on Sunday.

In a transfer window that could see a number of teams losing key players, Hibs fans received a huge boost when it was revealed that top scorer Leigh Griffiths will be staying at the club on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.

He has scored 14 times for the club so far as Pat Fenlon's side find themselves in the running for European places.

Although they have now been beaten at Easter Road three times, they have picked up more points at home than anyone else apart from Celtic and are big favourites to improve on their tally of 20 when Dundee visit on Saturday.

Dundee sit rock bottom of the table. are nine points from safety and it's hard to see them making up any ground this weekend.

Griffiths is pretty short at 4s to score the opener but the Dark Blues do have the worst defence in the league and I can see the striker marking his extended stay with a goal.

Elsewhere on Saturday I fancy goals at Kilmarnock-Dundee Utd.

Killie have scored in 16 consecutive SPL games while United have found the net in their last seven on the road.

The last three, and four of the last six, meetings between the teams would have covered a bet of over 3.5 goals and is worth backing here at 12/5.
