Motherwell could welcome back Jim O'Brien and Shaun Hutchinson for the Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash at St Mirren.

O'Brien, who missed last weekend's draw against Celtic with an Achilles knock, and Hutchinson, who has been out for two months with an ankle problem, have both returned to training.

Stevie Hammell is again doubtful with a tight hamstring and Paul Slane remains on the sidelines with a lower-leg problem.

St Mirren's Craig Dargo will miss the clash with a shoulder injury.

The striker has been ruled out of the next four matches after landing awkwardly during last week's win over Falkirk.

Better news for Saints is the return of Michael Higdon, who is back in the squad after recovering from a knee injury.
