Wigan boss Roberto Martinez believes the club need to draw a line under the Marlon King affair.
King was jailed for 18 months last week after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female student and causing actual bodily harm after punching her in the face.
The 29-year-old was sacked by Wigan as a result of his imprisonment and Martinez has called on his players to forget the controversy and focus on their upcoming games.
"In football there are certain situations that you need to make sure you assess, you learn from and you move forward," Martinez told Sky Sports News.
"Obviously it is a drastic situation when you lose a player in those circumstances, but there is nothing we can do.
"We need to in the dressing room focus on the games we have got ahead.
"In that respect unfortunately it is quite clear you need to focus on the next game and get everyone together around that.
"Certain situations in football you can't control and certain things you have to make sure you move forward on."
