The man who brought Theo Walcott through the ranks at Southampton could be in line for one of the top jobs in youth football.
Huw Jennings, the academy manager at St Mary's, is being tipped as a front-runner for the post of Head of Youth at the Premier League.
"It is flattering to have my name linked with such a prestigious post, but there is nothing further to say on it," he told the club's official website.
"I have kept the club fully aware of the interest and it is something which is a possibility and something I would have to consider if it became concrete.
"However, Southampton is a great club with a terrific academy and some wonderful people working there."
