Kolo Toure cannot help but get excited when he looks at the talented young players at Manchester City.

City boss Roberto Mancini already has one of most enviable squads in the Premier League, although it is the club's up and coming players that have Toure purring with delight.

January capture Adam Johnson from Middlesbrough is only 22 while teenage defender Dedryck Boyata has broken into City's first-team this season.

However, duo Abdi Ibrahim and Greg Cunningham have also caught the Ivory Coast star's eye and he feels the club will go from strength-to-strength in the coming years without having to splash the cash.

"When you think of such as Dedryck Boyata, Abdi Ibrahim and Greg Cunningham coming through, plus Adam Johnson signing in the transfer window, the future looks bright," he told the club's official website.

"We have a lot of good people here who really want to work for the club and believe in the club. From the manager down, we are all determined to take this club as far as we can.

"But it won't be easy. Success doesn't just come like that - you have to go through some hard times, and that's when you have to be strong and stick together, to fight for each other."

Meanwhile, Toure admits dealing with sky-high expectations is something everyone concerned with the club must adjust to following heavy investment.

The former Arsenal man believes the talent is there to succeed in Mancini's squad and that everyone is fighting as hard as they can to bring success to Eastlands.

"High expectations are normal. With the players we have now, we expect to be up at the top. But we know that, to show the world we have a good team, we need the results," he continued.

"You have to try and lift yourselves as high as you can - we want to be really high and one of the best clubs in the country, but we know we will have to fight to get there."
