Wolves twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Plymouth at Molineux.
The first three goalscorers were all making full debuts and it was Scott Sinclair, on loan from Chelsea, who netted first before Stephen Ward netted the home team's leveler.
Krisztian Timar scored a controversial second for the Pilgrims but Seyi George Olofinjana's goal after the break earned a share of the spoils for Wolves.
In the game's first attack of note, Wanderers' new striker Andy Keogh fired wide from long range and moments later Ward broke clear but was flagged offside from Michael Kightly's pass.
And it was against the run of play when Plymouth took the lead in the 27th minute as a Wolves attack broke down after Ward failed to control a ball soon stolen from him by Lilian Nalis.
The Frenchman was quick to pass the ball to the Pilgrims' left wing where Sinclair made tracks and then cut into the box to fire a shot through unsighted goalkeeper Matt Murray's legs.
Next, Murray was forced to save at the feet of Dan Gosling before Luke Summerfield's 20-yard free-kick thumped into the post with the goalkeeper beaten.
But the hosts were level in the 34th minute when Ward - scoring his first senior goal for Wolves - slotted into an open net after being set up by Keogh.
Two minutes later Timar, on loan from Hungarian side Ferencvaros, forced home a left-wing Summerfield corner with the goal allowed only afte a linesman's flag signalled the ball had crossed the line despite Jamie Clapham's best efforts.
Late in the half, Dan Jones' close-range shot was inadvertently blocked by Ward.
Both sides ran out unchanged for the start of the second half which began in earnest when Karl Henry smashed his falling volley wide of target.
And Ward went close to scoring his second equaliser of the game after Keogh's pressure on Timar forced the Hungarian into gifting possession.
Ward's intelligent pass to the right flank set Kightly free on goal but the winger's control let him down and Nalis teamed up with Marcel Seip to win back possession.
Appeals for a 55th-minute Wolves penalty were waved away by referee Steve Bennett when Timar clashed with Keogh inside the box ahead of Wanderers substitute Michael McIndoe replacing Jones.
Plymouth still carried a threat though and Rory Fallon was a whisker wide with a curling effort before McIndoe set up Kightly.
And although goalkeeper Luke McCormick got his fingertips to the shot it was Timar who headed the ball onto the post before Argyle cleared.
The hosts' pressure eventually told in the 68th minute though when a quick free-kick put McIndoe clear into the Pilgrims' penalty area from where his chip was met by the forehead of fellow substitute Olofinjana.
Wolves pushed for a winner but were forced to settle for a point.
