West Brom's deadly forward combination of Diomansy Kamara and Kevin Phillips propelled Tony Mowbray's side to victory in their FA Cup fourth-round derby against Wolves at Molineux.
Kamara's pace posed problems throughout to the home back four - and he gave Albion the lead with his 15th goal of the campaign.
Then the evergreen Phillips, in a rich vein of form, effectively killed off the contest early in the second period with his 12th strike so far this season.
Baggies substitute Zoltan Gera completed the scoring only a couple of minutes after being brought on by Mowbray in what was a repeat of this season's result at The Hawthorns in the Coca-Cola Championship.
Albion had enough chances to have doubled their tally, and their creativity and fluency constantly troubled Wolves - with Jason Koumas prominent.
The home side had their fair share of possession and carved out some threatening positions from the flanks. But they lacked a cutting edge - and an Albion defence, in which Neil Clement excelled, was seldom fully extended.
Albion were first to settle, and Koumas was only just too high with a dipping 25 yard free-kick after Kamara had been chopped down by Darren Potter.
Kamara found himself with a clear run at the Wolves goal after seizing on a pass from Jonathan Greening. But his first touch let him down, and his eventual shot was blocked.
Wolves came more into the game, and it needed an excellent last-ditch challenge from Neil Clement to halt Craig Davies inside the Albion area.
But the best chances were falling Albion's way, and Kamara should have broken the deadlock after 18 minutes.
The Senegal international raced clear of the Wolves defence, after Phillips had supplied the pass, but curled his shot wide of the far post.
Koumas then cut into the area, and his low shot beat Murray but flashed inches wide of the far post.
Wolves midfielder Seyi George Olofinjana had one attempt deflected inches wide. But the visitors posed the greater threat, and Murray clung on to a low drive from Koumas at the second attempt.
Kamara had been warned by Albion boss Mowbray to keep his cool. But the words appeared to go unheeded as he was booked for dissent after disputing a free-kick - his eighth yellow card of the campaign.
Two minutes before the interval, however, Kamara was the Albion's hero when he put them ahead.
He charged down Michael McIndoe's shot and raced clear from the half-way line, after Phillips headed into his path, coolly rounded Murray and tucking the ball into an empty net.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy made a double half-time substitution, bringing on Stephen Ward and Mark Davies in place of Craig Davies and Rohan Ricketts.
But four minutes into the second period, West Brom doubled their lead through Phillips.
The 33-year-old striker looked marginally offside when he got on the end of a chip into the box from Kamara, but there was no doubting the quality of his finishing as he drilled a right-footed shot past the dive of Murray.
Wolves tried to retaliate, and uncertain-looking Albion goalkeeper Pascal Zuberbuhler was booked after bringing down Ward outside the box.
But the Baggies still looked dangerous on the break, with Murray tipping over a piledriver from a narrow angle by Kamara and holding on to a fierce attempt from Koumas at the second attempt.
With 11 minutes remaining, Gera bundled the ball home from an inswinging Koumas corner to seal Albion's place in the last 16.
