Norwich 1 Wolves 2 Click here for full match stats

Wolves held off a late Norwich fightback to edge the final game of the season 2-1 with goalkeeper Matt Murray taking the praise for a string of superb saves to deny the home side.

Denes Rosa handed the visitors the lead on the stroke of half-time before Mark Kennedy doubled the lead in the second half.

Robert Earnshaw cut the deficit for Norwich and despite Wolves playing the closing stages with 10 men, after Mark Kennedy was dismissed, they held out to claim the three points.

Wolves' Lee Naylor had the first real effort on goal as he sent a 25-yard free-kick whistling past the upright after Carl Robinson had felled Kenny Miller with 10 minutes on the watch.

Norwich responded instantly, Robert Earnshaw trying his luck from distance, but the Welshman's effort failed to trouble Murray in goal.

Murray was called into action as the Wolves defence failed to close down the onrushing Dickson Etuhu, who fired goalwards but the visiting keeper superbly turned the ball over the bar.

Robinson was the next to test Murray as the Canaries picked up the pace just after the hour as he headed Paul McVeigh's corner goalwards, but it was straight at the Wolves goalkeeper.

Wolves took the lead in stoppage time as the Norwich defence failed to clear and Rosa burst through to squeeze the ball past Paul Gallacher at his near post.

Lee Naylor attempted to lighten up the opening stages of the second period with a superb burst into the Norwich half, but he took the ball too far and was dispossessed. The move did not fully break down as the ball found its way across to Aliadiere but his effort was deflected wide.

Norwich keeper Gallacher was then quick to react to Aliadiere's advances as he raced of his line to collect after the French youngster looked to have a clear run on goal just after the hour.

Kennedy doubled Wolves' advantage with 20 minutes left as Robinson lost possession which allowed Rosa to burst goalwards. The Hungarian then picked out the advancing Aliadiere, who left the ball for Kennedy to give Gallacher no chance.

The home side responded instantly as Rob Edwards and Murray failed to clear leaving Earnshaw the easiest of tasks to roll the ball in from close range.

Murray came to his side's rescue as Norwich pushed for an equaliser denying Earnshaw on two occasions with a double block and superb diving save onto the post.

The visitors were forced to play the last 10 minutes with 10 men as Cameron picked up a second yellow card after brining down McVeigh.

Norwich pushed for the equaliser in the closing stages, but they could not make their numerical advantage count.
