would have remained unimpressed by the turgid goalless draw with Crewe.

Crewe were left cursing their luck when skipper Shaun Smith took aim from 25
yards and hammered a tremendous shot against the outside of the post.
Wolves huffed and puffed for most of the second half after being reprieved
when Oakes acrobatically kicked over a bouncing header from Efe Sodje and when
Joleon Lescott escaped unpunished from a borderline challenge on David Wright.
Wolves, who had not drawn any of their previous 10 matches, had a series of
half chances which fell largely to Cedric Roussel, but the striker was not sharp
enough to take advantage in his first home start since moving from Coventry for
#1.53million two months ago.
