Watford have released former England left-back Chris Powell.
The 37-year-old was signed from Charlton last summer and made 11 starts for the Hornets but slipped behind Jordan Stewart in the pecking order.
Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd is looking to revamp his squad for next season's push for an immediate return to the Barclays Premiership.
Boothroyd said: "Chris was always going to be a short-term player for us. When players are out of the team they can be disruptive but not Chris Powell. He is the ultimate professional."
Powell, who was selected for England early in Sven-Goran Eriksson's regime, indicated he will be looking for another club rather than hanging up his boots.
"It was a good year for me and a learning curve for everyone at the club. It was a privilege to wear the yellow shirt," said Powell.
"I have to move but I'll be looking with great interest at Watford's results."
