Stoke boss Tony Pulis reckons his team get a raw deal when it comes to added time.

In fact, Pulis maintains the Potters are treated worse than any other team in the Barclays Premier League.

Pulis, preparing his outfit for the Midlands derby at home to Wolves, insists that his team are "slaughtered" week after week and suffer whether they are winning or losing as games come to a climax.

Pulis claimed to have new statistics provided by his own technical staff acquired from university studies, that show Stoke get treated worse than anyone else.

He believes if Stoke are winning, they face more added time than any other team, and if they are losing they receive less.

He said: "Whatever the situation, we are bottom of the table when it comes to added time. We are punished whether we are winning or losing.

"I was a little surprised when I saw the stats, because there is no doubt we get the worst of it all the time."

Pulis maintains that Stoke are suffering because of the perception that they take too much time preparing their dangerous set-pieces and Rory Delap's long throws.

"People seem to think that's all we are about," he said. "But we are better than that. It was proved when we won at Spurs last week.

"I took off Rory at the beginning of the second half, so we didn't have any long throws after that. But there was still more than five minutes added time for us to get through to win the match."

He added: "I don't think we are accepted yet as a Premier League side, but we are getting more respect than we did last season. But accepted? Not yet.

"There's more to us than the label we have as a long-throw team and nothing else.

"We still don't get the rub of the green from referees, these stats prove it. This survey proves what I always suspected.

"We now know that when we are winning, when the board goes up at the end of the 90 minutes, our opponents will get more time to save themselves than anyone else.

"Forget Rory, we still always end up facing five minutes or more, the stats don't lie.

"We are punished more than any other club in the top flight. We do not get as much time when we are losing, and if we are winning we get punished again because more time is added on."

Stoke have lost in the league this term only to Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United and sit in ninth spot.

But Pulis said: "I still think we are looked on as a downtrodden club and the stats show we are being hard done by.

"We will just have to roll our sleeves up and get on with it. There's no point in complaining about it to any level of officialdom. We know it is happening, we know the facts and we have to understand it.

"The fans must realise it. We have to realise it as a group, the club must realise and be more resilient. There are things going against us that shouldn't go against us for no good reason.

"Our fans are fantastic. They recognise what is going on and that makes them more determined. It is important for them to stay behind us.

"I have been looking at the statistics, we get slaughtered both ways. Winning or losing we get more and less time added on. What happened at Spurs was scandalous."

Stoke should have goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen back to face Wolves, the Dane having withdrawn at the last moment at White Hart Lane due to sickness.
