Neil Warnock has laughed off reports linking Sheffield United with a move for Southampton defender Chris Baird.

The Blades, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds were among a list of clubs reported to be monitoring the 23-year-old Northern Ireland international.

"I'm not interested in Baird and have not made an approach for him," Warnock told the club's official website.

"The only contact I've had was his agent ringing me."
