Southampton striker Brett Ormerod has attracted the interest of Preston manager

Billy Davies.

Davies has already added Bury's Simon Whaley and Bournemouth's Brian Stock

during the transfer window and, as well as other areas, is now looking to

recruit an experienced forward.

The Scot retains an interest in Derby's Paul Peschisolido and added to

29-year-old Ormerod, is also looking at players north of the border and in

Europe.

He said: "He's another player that we like, another player that is very much

on the list. We've looked at all sorts of strikers and we're aware of Brett

Ormerod and the talents he's got.''
