Phil Brown has confirmed Hull are in talks with Sheffield United defender Chris Lucketti, but insists there will be no move for David Prutton.
Lucketti, 35, is out of contract at Bramall Lane and Brown is keen to land a player he first approached in the January transfer window.
That move fell through when Lucketti eventually broke into the United side, but Brown is trying his luck once again despite the Blades' decision to offer an extension.
"I've already spoken to Chris and I've put something in writing to him and his agent" Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Brown will not chase Prutton, who was released by Southampton this week, after the Hull-born midfielder snubbed the Tigers in January in favour of a loan switch to League One side Nottingham Forest.
Brown added: "David opted to go for a team in a lower division than ourselves and I thought maybe that is a tell-tale sign. But no, I made no contact with David."
