Portsmouth chairman Sulamain Al Fahim has reiterated his intention to remain with the club.
Al Fahim bought Portsmouth in late August, but just 40 days later he sold 90 per cent of his shareholding to Ali Al Faraj.
Al Faraj has been reported to be looking to take control of Al Fahim's remaining holding - but he insists that will not be happening.
"Contrary to speculation, I have no intention whatsoever of selling my shareholding in Portsmouth Football Club," he told The News.
'"I am very proud to own a 10 per cent share in a club that I believe, now as much as ever, has a strong future.
"There is much work to be done in the coming months, from restructuring the business so it works on a sound footing, to developing both the team and all associated facilities including the stadium.'
Al Faraj is also believed to be lining up other investors to join the club and Al Fahim is fully supportive of that.
There has been much confusion surrounding the ownership of the football club in recent weeks.
"As chairman of the club and a shareholder, I look forward to working with the rest of the board and other shareholders as we go forward.
"My investment in the club is for the long term - and by that, I mean many, many years."
