Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has reiterated his desire to play in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old's current contract with the French outfit expires in the summer, although he has been offered fresh terms to stay.

But the Morocco international, who has previously been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal, Sunderland and West Ham, is in no rush to make a decision.

While he could move on as a free agent in the summer, he also does not want to penalise the club where he received his footballing education.

He told L'Equipe: "My future? I don't know. It is up to me.

"At the club, the door is open. When I make my decision, I will reply yes or no. I am thinking about it at present.

"I just want to achieve a great season with Bordeaux, maybe (then) to sign (for a club) in the Premier League.

"However it would be fine (moving in January for a fee) so everyone could take advantage of the transfer."

Chamakh netted in Bordeaux's victory over Juventus on Wednesday which maintained their unbeaten start to the Champions League campaign.

The French side have finished top of Group A and Chamakh hopes to now progress into the quarter-finals at least after reaching the last 16.

He added: "Life is beautiful in the Bordeaux changing room. If we can avoid Barcelona and Inter Milan in the Champions League draw, we could reach the quarter-final.

"It would be fantastic for a club like Bordeaux to be in the European top eight, and then play a great team."
