Bolton manager Gary Megson admits he was wrong to go public on stating there was dressing-room unrest at the club.

Megson insists the dissent is "not a huge problem" as he attempts to lift his side out of the Barclays Premier League relegation zone.

He claimed after the derby defeat by Blackburn last weekend that certain players were trying to destabilise the club.

However, ahead of the match against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, Megson was in reflective mood.

He said: "I made a mistake in highlighting the situation because while it is still there and still apparent, it is not a huge problem.

"Maybe I should not be as honest with you as I have been. You say these things then other people pick up on it and make a bigger deal out of what I was trying to say.

"I can understand people being unhappy if they are not in the team. When you have squad of 20-odd players and can only play 11, you are going to have the hump a little bit.

"If you take Chelsea, they may be top of the division but one or two will have a face on as they are not playing."

Meanwhile, Trotters midfielder Sean Davis appears resigned to missing the rest of the campaign because of a knee injury.

Davis made only three starts after arriving from Fulham in the summer before suffering the setback.

He told the Bolton News: "I know I am not going to play again this season.

"To have had an injury for this long, I would rather see it out and be 100% for pre-season.

"Hopefully, if everything goes right, I should be back in April but for me, I don't want to rush it."

Megson added: "Sean is going to be out for a long spell but whether it will be for the season only time will tell. It will be touch and go."

Israel midfielder Tamir Cohen could return against Fulham after sitting out the defeat by Blackburn because of a groin problem.

Winger Ricardo Gardner has not trained all week but is expected to shrug off a calf strain in time to feature.

Full-back Jloyd Samuel took a knock in the derby clash as well but should also be in the frame to face Fulham.
