Arsene Wenger believes his free-scoring Arsenal side will only get stronger during the dark days of winter.

The Gunners manager is convinced they can make a real push for the Barclays Premier League title with their own brand of cutting-edge football.

Wenger was beaming after his side dismantled Wolves 4-1 at Molineux to stretch their unbeaten run in all competitions to 13 games.

With each passing matchday they are looking more like genuine contenders. Not that Wenger is surprised as he said: "I have had belief since the first day of the season.

"I hope to keep convincing the players they could have a interesting part to play in the championship..

"The most important thing is to play for each other and keep your belief. In this job there is never enough belief.

"I am sure we will give 90 minutes in every game - and the players respect that. We want to give our best in every game and that is what we are doing."

Arsenal are averaging over three goals a game in the league with 36 goals from just 11 matches. Sunderland are next up on Saturday week and may be entitled to feel slightly nervous.

Cesc Fabregas scored his sixth goal of the season on Saturday while Andrey Arshavin weighed in with his fourth in the domestic campaign.

Robin van Persie leads the way with seven goals while defenders Thomas Vermaelen and William Gallas have also found the target in the opening months of the season.

However, Arsenal got some help from Wolves with Ronald Zubar and then Jody Craddock both scoring own goals before Fabregas made his mark in first-half stoppage time with a simple finish.

Arshavin put the game out of the home side's reach in the 64th minute before Craddock got a consolation goal late on.

Wenger is thrilled with his attacking options. "Scoring 36 goals is a tremendous record you know, " he said. "That is great credit to the team and the way we play.

"We could have scored more goals against Wolves but I am happy. To be 3-0 up at half-time away from home is something you dream about.

"It is an ideal position. Our technical superiority prevailed and we controlled the game."

Wenger - who lost Abou Diaby to a calf injury - felt Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey stood up well to a difficult test on a away ground.

"He is 18 years old, people forget that, " said the Gunners boss. "I set him a target to play between 15 and 18 games and he has improved a lot.

"He has a tremendous engine and already has good experience for someone his age."

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy was heartened to hear the fans chant his name near the end of the game.

He said: "It means a lot to me and the supporters have been fantastic. They were instrumental in us getting promotion.

"I have got no worries either about the desire, attitude and personality of the team. It is marvellous.

"While we were masters of our own downfall, we kept going and that is to the players credit.

"We worked so hard to get into this league but we knew we might get slapped by Arsenal. "
