90+2: That's the final whistle and it's finished 1-1. It's unlikely to be enough for Liverpool who will be sick at that late equaliser. Lyon qualify with the draw. With Fiorentina having won tonight - 5-2 against Debreceni - Liverpool must make up five points on the Italians over the remaining two games. Basically things are now well out of their hands.

90+1: Kallstrom's cross runs through to the far side. We're in the first of two added minutes.

90: GOAL - LISANDRO. An equaliser after a mix up in the Liverpool defence is punished. Agger can onyl watch the ball drop over his head. Lisandro's outmuscles Krygiakos and then fires past Reina. 1-1 and Liverpool's hopes are hit late on.

89: Babel gets into a good position in the box but then drags his shot past the near post. No let up from Liverpool despite their slender lead.

88: Ngog is immediately into the action but Lloris comes out to kick clear as he chases down a through ball.

87: Torres is coming off. David Ngog comes on. That's surely just to protect the Spaniard from further injury.

86: A foul by Mascherano halts Liverpool's next attack. A 2-0 win here would wipe out Lyon's advantage over them in the head-to-head battle in the group.

85: Well, the less said about that the better. Babel, full of confidence, hit the free kick - straight out for a throw. It wasn't even near the corner flag. We've just seen the best and worst of Babel, that's for sure!

84: Tremednous stuff from Babel that. Now Liverpool attack again and Torres wins a free kick on the corner of the penalty area.

83: GOAL - BABEL. A wonderful strike from the Dutchman. He cuts inside Gossama and unleashes a tremendous right-foot shot from 25 yards which flies into the top corner. 1-0 Liverpool!

83: Kallstrom's cross-field pass finds Govou. He centres but Ederson's overhead kick is mishit.

82: Bastos runs at the Liverpol defence and manages to win a corner off Carragher. Liverpool look as if they are running out of steam a bit here. They do, however, deal with the corner.

81: Kallstrom takes it left-footed but the curling effort is way over. The Swede has been poor tonight, especially from set pieces.

80: Agger tugs back Ederson as he spins away from him. That could easily have been a second yellow card for the Liverpool defender but the ref decides otherwise. Free kick on the edge of the box though.

79: Torres turns on the pace but Cissokho matches him, tracking back to clear.

78: Lyon break and Ederson plays a fine through ball to Lisandro. He cuts inside Agger but bends his left-foot shot wide of the post. Good chance goes begging.

77: A period of possession for Liverpool but can they create another great chance They've had two already tonight and missed both.

76: Plenty of goals in Florence - it's now Fiorentina 5 Debreceni 2. None here yet with less than 15 minutes to go now.

75: Mascherano tries a speculative effort from 35 yards. It's blocked by Ederson.

74: Krygiakos makes an awful error with a weak header back to Reina. Lisandro gets in with only the keeper to beat but his shot is stopped at point-blank range by Reina. That a very close call for Liverpool.

73: French international Sidney Govou replaces Gomis for Lyon up front.

72: It's back to 4-2 in Florence now. A home win still looks likely in that one.

71: Mascherano concedes a free kick around 35 yards from goal. Bastos hits it well but Reina's fast feet get him across to make a comfortable save.

70: Corner to Liverpool now. Babel takes but he miskicks. The low ball in is easily cleared.

69: So close for Liverpool. Lucas has a great chance as he's left in space on the left of the box but Lloris makes a superb stop. Teh rebound runs for Kuyt but his effort is cleared off the line by Cissokho!

68: That pass is Voronin's last action. He's replaced by Ryan Babel.

67: Voronin finds Torres who spins to hit a shot which is blocked by a combination of Toulalan and Cissokho.

66: Torres tries to run at the home defence but Cris is there to stop him. The Spaniard has done nothing in the second half. Will he be subbed? Benitez says he's not properly fit right now and is risking another injury playing him for long periods.

65: A long ball forward finds Bastos, who heads down in the box. However, the first man to the ball is Agger and the Dane clears.

64: Makoun's attempted cross turns into something of a shot. Reina has to be careful as the ball skips off the turf in front of him, but he does his job well.

64: Lyon's first flag kick of the game is overhit and comes to nothing.

63: Reina struggles with a deflected cross. In the end it falls beyond his far post. Bastos collects and wins a corner off Agger.

62: It looks all over in the other group game now with Fiorentina having just gone 4-1 up. Liverpool desperately need to win this now.

61: Voronin trips Gomis around 30 yards from Reina's goal. This could be dangerous. Kallstrom's effort, however, is poor and way over.

60: It's now Fiorentina 3 Debreceni 1 in the other group game. If it stays like this, then lyon are through and Liverpool will be five points behind Fiorentina with two games each left.

59: Ederson tries to find Gomis with a pass through the centre of the Liverpool defence. However, Reina does well to come out of his box to head away. Had he not got there, that would likely have been a goal.

58: Mascherano again nips in to win the ball as Lyon try to create something on the edge of the box.

57: Cissokho does well down the left and sends in a good cross. Bastos gets above Insua but can't keep his header down. Better from Lyon and they've improved since half time.

56: Makoun tries to thread a ball through for Gomis but the striker just checks his run, perhaps in a bid to stay onside, and the move breaks down.

55: More news from Florence and Fiorentina are back in front against Debrecen. That puts more pressure on Liverpool - they really need a goal here.

54: Javier Mascherano makes an interception in front of the back four - like he does. I think that's the first time I've mentioned him but he's just been going about his job in quiet but effective fashion.

52: Torres lays the ball off, looking for Voronin. He is after a foul as he goes to ground but the ref waves play on.

51: Kuyt has has ankles clipped by Makoun in midfield. Free kick. Liverpool launch an attack but when the ball is played into the box Cris and Makoun combine to clear.

50: A ball forward for Liverpool towards Voronin - he's still on - and Benayoun is dangerous, but the alert Lloris comes out to collect.

49: Lisandro shows too much of the ball to Krygiakos, who duly wins it. He's another who's performed admirably so far this evening.

48: Chance for Lyon. Cissokho crosses from the left and finds Lisandro. He hits a volley from 15 yards with power but it's too high.

47: Carrgaher takes on Cissokho downthe right flank. He thinks he's won a corner by the ref gives a goal kick.

46: Ederson goes down on the edge of the box. The crowd jeer as the ref waves play on, deeming Insua's challenge absolutely fine. The Argentine was awful at Fulham on Saturday but he's done well tonight. The replays shows it probably should have been a free kick though.

Restart: Lyon get us back under way. Liverpool have 45 minutes to find a goal and keep things in their hands.

Feedback now and it's mostly about one subject - the hapless Voronin. Vimal Patel says: "The match has been very one sided, I think that Liverpool should be well off in the lead especially after dominating possession and the defence coming back to life. The match strenghtens my views to why Andriy Voronin should not be in the squad since that shocking miss." Sean Sheibani adds; "The only way for Voronin to score is to make a goal 5ft wider from each side." Frank Copplestone also wants rid of Voronin. "Surely Voronin will be replaced by Babel at half-time. We need more pace and composure in front of goal to win this tie." Buddy Stamper, in Bermuda, says Aquilani should replace Voronin. For what it's worth, I'd have thought Benitez is about to make the change

Liverpool are now rated more likely winners than Lyon by Sky Bet, who offer 9/5 about an away win and 15/8 about the hosts. The draw is into 6/4 and is now the most likely result.

45+2: That's the half-time whistle. Liverpool have done well but haven't been able to find the net. They've made Lloris in the Lyon goal make three crucial saves but Voronin really should have score with the third of those chances - he was clean through. Still, plenty to give Reds fans heart at this stage. Can they push on in the second half? Stay logged on to find out.

45+2: The corner is well dealt with by the head of Toulalan - Agger was right behind him waiting to head home.

45+1: Cris wins his battle with Torres as Liverpool break. Moments later Torres threatens again and wins a corner.

45: Voronin's free kick is a better delivery this time but a slip by a white-shirted player allows Gomis to nod away.

44: Voronin's woes continue. His corner is headed away at the near post. The ball soon comes back to him and this time the cross is into the keeper's arms. I think he'll be coming off at the break.

43: Voronin loses the ball as he tries to go past Cris. Not a good day for the Ukranian so far.

42: Lisandro does well and finds Kallstrom but just when the Lyon attack is gathering pace, the Swede hits a loose pass and the move breaks down.

41: Good news for Liverpool from Florence. Debreceni have levelled against Fiorentina in that other group game. 1-1 there.

40: Pjanic's earlier injury means he is not going to be able to continue. Ederson replaces him - that's Lyon's second change already.

38: Torres goes down on the edge of the box but Gossama's tackle on him is a good one - he took the ball.

37: Agger finds Benayoun down the left but when he tries to cut the ball back he pulls it behind all his team-mates. He should have done better in that position.

36: Bastos manages a shot for Lyon but it's easily blocked.

35: A reminder that Fiorentina lead the other group game 1-0. If things stay as they are, Lyon will qualify tonight and Liverpool will be five points behind the Viola with only six to play for.

34: A spate of free kicks at the moment, this time Bastos climbs all over Kuyt on halfway.

33: Lisandro does a similar thing to Kuyt, pulling him back as he tries to go away from him. Again a yellow card is the only option.

32: Agger brings down Gomis on halfway as he threatens to run in behind. The Dane is rightly booked.

31: Pjanic goes down injured now. Insua might have stood on his heel but if he did it was a total accident. He needs treatment.

30: That save from Voronin was Lloris' third of the night. Liverpool havehad the chances and will be kicking themselves for not being in front.

29: Kyrgiakos goes down injured after fouling Gomis. He doesn't look good after appearing to take a knock to the face but after treatment is able to continue.

28: Oh wow, what a chance for Liverpool and it's gone begging! Voronin is clean through on goal but in a one-on-one he can't beat Lloris who makes the save. He should have scored but it remains 0-0.

27: Free kick to Lyon on the right and a chance to get the ball in the box. Some of the big men are going forward. However, the free kick is poor and Lucas is able to head away.

26: Voronin's control lets him down and Liverpool's attack loses momentum. The ball ends up back with Reina in the end.

25: A bit of a quiet spell this, at least on the pitch. The Lyon fans are making a right racket!

23: Lisandro goes down like he's been pole-axed but Torres hardly touched him. The ref, Belgium's Frank de Bleeckere, gives a free kick anyway.

22: Midway through the half and Liverpool have hit back after Lyon's better start. It remains goalless though.

21: Cissokho can't keep the ball in play down the left as Lyon threaten to create something good. Throw to Liverpool.

20: Carragher gets to the byline but just runs the ball out of play before he can win a corner. Goal kick it is.

19: Lamine Gassama comes on for the injured Anthony Reveillere. He'll go to right-back - can Insua, who has started well, or Benayoun profit?

18: From the resultant corner, Benayoun flicks a header wide of goal. Good stuff from Liverpool - there best spell so far.

17: Great save from Lloris keeps things level. Again Insua causes problems down the left. His centre creates a chance. Benayoun and Kuyt almost get in each other's way but the latter manages to hit a good shot which is tipped over by the Lyon keeper.

16: Bafetimbi Gomis hits a shot from 25 yards but again it's straight at Reina.

15: News from the other match in this group and Fiorentina lead Debreceni 1-0. That's not good news for Liverpool. Meanwhile, in this game Aly Cissokho's cross from the left is dangerous but Liverpool, aided by Agger's presence, manage to clear.

14: Bastos is caught offside as Lyon push forward.

13: Torres looks like he felt he should have done better there but he did well to hit a good shot so well on the turn. A yard either side of the keeper and it would have been 1-0.

12: Torres almost scores. Insua sends in a low ball from the left and Torres hits a shot on the spin from 14 yards but it's too near the keeper who parries away.

10: Jean Makoun lets fly from all of 40 yards but that effort is well over Reina's crossbar.

9: Kallstrom sends a good long ball out wide to Bastos. However, he can't control first time. When he does manage to cross, Kyrgiakos is there to head clear. Bastos needed to control that early and then he would have had a good chance.

8: Lyon have made the better start - certainly the ball has been in Liverpool's half more - but they are yet to really test Reina.

7: A crucial challenge from Kyrgiakos stops Pjanic as he threatens to get a run in on goal. Good tackle from the Greek.

6: Miralem Pjanic appears to go for the near post from the tight angle but Lucas is in the way to hack clear. A bit of a waste that from Lyon's point of view.

5: Carragher concedes a free kick on the left about 16 yards from the goalline - dangerous position.

4: Dirk Kuyt sends in a cross from the right but Cris beats Torres in the air to nod away.

3: Michel Bastos has the first shot on the match from around 30 yards out but Jose Reina makes a confident stop. In truth it was too close to the Spaniard.

2: The first Lyon attacks comes to nothing as Agger twice cuts out attempted passesforward.
