Blackburn manager Graeme Souness has confirmed he is interested in bringing in-demand Paul Dickov to Ewood Park.
The Leicester striker is one of several players targeted by Souness, according to the club's official website, www.rovers.co.uk.
Birmingham, Portsmouth and West Brom declared their interest some time ago while there could also be competition from Norwich.
The Canaries have become the latest club to be linked with a move for the 31-year-old marksman - who has held talks with Rovers.
Blues boss Steve Bruce is also keen to add Dickov to his squad to increase his attacking options at St Andrews.
But the Scotland international may well opt to move elsewhere as he knows that his chances of a regular starting place with Birmingham would be slim.
Bruce has already gone on record to make it clear that on-loan Mikael Forssell and new £6.25m marksman Emile Heskey will be his first-choice pairing at St Andrews next term.
That would leave Dickov to battle it out with Clinton Morrison and Stern John for the role of back-up striker.
The matter is further complicated by the fact that John, who is out of contract this summer, has emerged as a potential target for Derby County.
Dickov spent the weekend mulling over offers from West Brom, Portsmouth and Rovers - and is due for talks with Birmingham this week.
But he is unlikely to make a quick decision on his future, especially now Norwich have entered the increasingly hectic race for his signature.
Dickov has scored 32 goals in 81 league appearances since moving from Manchester City in February 2002.
