Birmingham manager Steve Bruce has confirmed his interest in Leicester striker and West Brom target Paul Dickov.
Leicester boss Micky Adams revealed last week that Blues were seeking to sign the Scotland international, who has a get-out clause in his contract that allows him to leave the Walkers Stadium following the club's relegation from the Premiership.
Birmingham, along with their local and now Premiership rivals West Brom, were last week given permission to talk to Dickov.
Bruce, who also hopes to complete the signing of Liverpool striker Emile Heskey within the next 48 hours in a deal that will eventually cost the club £6million, said: "I was made aware that he [Dickov] had a get-out clause in his contract and he is a possibility that we are looking at.
"We have got many irons in the fire and Paul Dickov is certainly someone who I like as a player. So there might be something happening there."
