West Bromwich Albion insist a deal to sign Leicester's Riccardo Scimeca has not yet been finalised, despite the reports to the contrary from the Foxes.
Leicester had announced utility man Scimeca activated a clause in his Walkers Stadium contract which allowed him to speak to other clubs following the Foxes' relegation and had subsequently joined the Baggies for an undisclosed fee.
But Albion chairman Jeremy Peace told the Baggies' official website: "Although we have opened talks with the player, personal terms have yet to be finalised.
"We will make an announcement in due course."
The 28-year-old Scimeca, who spent six years with Aston Villa earlier in his career, had joined the Foxes on a free transfer from Nottingham Forest in May last year.
He went on to make 31 appearances for the Walkers Stadium club during their relegation season, scoring one goal.
