A last-gasp header by Jason Cundy earned Ipswich three points at the Hawthorns
and left Albion boss Denis Smith still seeking his first Nationwide League
Division One success after five matches at the helm.
Cundy found the target in the 89th minute when he powered the ball past
goalkeeper Alan Miller from a free kick chipped into the heart of the Albion
defence by Jamie Clapham.
Matt Holland had given Town the lead with a 52nd-minute shot, but Albion made
it 2-1 with goals from Shaun Murphy and Sean Flynn in the 69th and 72nd minutes,
only for James Scowcroft to make it 2-2 just three minutes later.
Holland opened the scoring with a well-placed shot from a corner by Clapham,
with Murphy making no mistake with a fine header from a corner by Richard
Sneekes.
Flynn scored the best goal of the night with a spectacular volley three
minutes later after a long ball from hard-working Kevin Kilbane.
Scowcroft got his name on the scoresheet in the 75th minute with a simple
tap-in from a cross by Gus Uhlenbeek.
The victory meant Ipswich have lost only once in their last nine outings,
while Albion, who topped the table earlier this term, have collected only two
points from a possible 21.
