Tottenham boss Glenn Hoddle has revealed the identity of the player who could become his third summer signing - Ipswich frontman Marcus Bent.
Hoddle has been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old and is considering a transfer raid, particularly if - as expected - the Tractor Boys are dumped out of the FA Barclaycard Premiership on Saturday.
George Burley's side must beat Liverpool at Anfield and hope Sunderland suffer a heavy defeat against Derby to stay in the top flight. Tottenham face relegated Leicester in their last game at Filbert Street.
Hoddle has already snapped up Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp and Slovenian international Milenko Acimovic in preparation for next season - and believes he could tempt Bent away from Portman Road if Town have dropped into
Division One.
"There's nothing happening at the moment, but he is a player we've been monitoring," Hoddle, told the London Evening Standard.
"He's a good young player who's done reasonably well. There are 10 or 11 players I'm looking at - and I'll be going to a lot more games between before the World Cup."
