Norwich extended their unbeaten run in the Coca-Cola Championship to 13 games as they were held to a draw at Carrow Road by battling Hull.

The Canaries dominated the first half and deservedly took the lead after 19 minutes when Darel Russell's cross from the right found veteran Dion Dublin, who sent a looping header over Boaz Myhill.

Hull were level eight minutes after the restart when Fraizer Campbell broke through before finishing well and they withstood heavy pressure from Norwich late on to secure the draw.

Glenn Roeder made one change to the Norwich starting line-up from the 2-1 win over Cardiff, with Arsenal loanee Kieran Gibbs being handed his debut in place of Mo Camara.

Hull made two changes, with midfielder Bryan Hughes, who was injured during the 2-2 draw with Blackpool, being replaced on the left of midfield by Nick Barmby and Jay-Jay Okocha coming in for injured top scorer Dean Windass.

Norwich started brightly, with Lee Croft doing well on the wing. His cross was met by Ched Evans, who headed over.

The visitors were struggling to cope with Norwich's clever play down the right and the pressure eventually told as Russell got free and Dublin rose well to head home his first goal at Carrow Road for over a year.

Hull immediately set about getting the equaliser and Simon Walton's shot was inadvertently blocked by team-mate Ryan France, before Norwich soon took control once again.

After good work from Evans, the ball fell to Croft and his curling shot looked destined for the top corner, only for Myhill to produce a fine save.

Just before half-time, Wayne Brown should have levelled for Hull, but he headed over from close range after being found by Okocha's superb free-kick.

Hull began the second half as they finished the first and Brown sent another header wide before Campbell met Walton's cross and his header was superbly kept out by David Marshall.

Moments later Campbell made amends as he latched onto a through-ball and got in ahead of Jason Shackell before squirming the ball under the onrushing Marshall.

The Tigers continued to press forward in search of the lead and Campbell almost got in again when Gary Doherty lost his footing, but Marshall made a smart block.

Norwich gradually began to find their rhythm once again with the introduction of Jon Otsemobor giving them fresh impetus going forward.

Canaries skipper Mark Fotheringham fired in a rasping long-range effort that flashed over the bar before Russell's volley was parried away by Myhill.

However, Hull showed they were still dangerous with Henrik Pedersen and Sam Ricketts both shooting just wide.

Second-half substitute Darren Huckerby was full of running for Norwich, but was unable to find an end product to his good work down the right.

The home fans were becoming increasingly frustrated with Myhill taking time over goal kicks and the Hull goalkeeper was eventually booked for time wasting.

Norwich piled forward late on in a bid to force the winner, but the Hull defence stood firm and held on for a well-earned point.
