Hull twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with Coca-Cola Championship leaders Derby at Pride Park.
Gary Teale opened the scoring with his first goal for the Rams after they had survived a frantic penalty box scramble but Andy Dawson restored parity with a free-kick.
Nevertheless, Derby reached half-time in front after Darren Moore headed home moments before the whistle.
But with less than two minutes remaining the Tigers snatched a point as Dave Livermore volleyed home a Sam Ricketts cross.
It was Derby who started brightest, with the hosts forcing two successive corners in the opening moments before opening the scoring with a sucker-punch goal in the 29th minute.
The Rams had found themselves under tremendous pressure on their goalline, where they repelled four successive shots, before Stephen Pearson broke from his own penalty area to feed Teale in the right channel who slotted under Myhill's dive.
But the Tigers were level in the 33rd minute when Dawson's left boot swept home a 25-yard free-kick awarded after Moore brought down Jon Parkin.
Three minutes before the break, Pearson's header was blocked by Myhill's outstretched leg but Moore headed home the hosts' second after Jones' right-wing corner during the final of two stoppage-time minutes.
Both sides ran out unchanged for the start of the second half which opened with Hull on the offensive once more, though Derby again defended their lines from a corner before immediately advancing upfield on a counter-attack which came to nothing.
In the 52nd minute Giles Barnes tested Myhill with a shot fired low to the goalkeeper's right from 18 yards before Nicky Forster chanced his arm at the other end with a firmly struck shot which was always rising over Stephen Bywater's crossbar.
In the 62nd minute, Hull manager Phil Brown - who started last season in charge at Derby - made a double substitution as striker Dean Windass replaced Parkin and new signing Ray Parlour, who signed for City on Friday on contract until the end of the season, came on for Jon Welsh.
Stephen McPhee was gifted time and space on the edge of the Derby penalty area in the 67th minute but blazed almost over the stadium's South Stand before the Rams made their first change of the afternoon as sustitute Jon Macken was handed a debut as replacement for Teale.
And Hull soon followed suit, in the 77th minute, as Stuart Elliott was introduced for McPhee before Danny Coles headed a Steve Howard chip off the Tigers' goalline.
But the Rams were caught on their heels upfield in the 88th minute and after Ricketts had rounded Pearson, he fired in a low cross from the right which Livermore volleyed home from 12 yards.
