Brede Hangeland insists Fulham will not be caught running scared when they take on high-flying Manchester City on Sunday.
The Cottagers travel to Manchester on the back of Monday night's victory against Hull - their first win in four - and a 1-1 draw with Italian giants Roma in Thursday night's Europa League tie.
Roy Hodgson's summer spending has been restricted to cut-price deals and free transfers while City boss Mark Hughes has parted with almost £120million to bring the likes of Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor to Eastlands.
City's early form suggests they are on track to challenge for a place in next year's Champions League but Hangeland insists Fulham will not wilt under the pressure of playing against Hughes' star-studded team.
"When we are playing our best we can go anywhere and get something and that's a good feeling to have even when we go to difficult places like Man City," the 28-year-old said.
"No-one is going to give me sleepless nights but obviously they have four or five world-class strikers so there won't be a single one that we'll have to look after.
"It should be a really good match. They have signed a lot of big-name players so they have done well like they expected so it will obviously be a tough game.
"We have won two years in a row up there so if we can do it again that would be fantastic but they have a fantastic side and we will try and get something from there."
Hangeland's future was the subject of much speculation at Craven Cottage over the summer after Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger expressed his admiration for the commanding centre half.
He has been an ever-present at the heart of the Fulham defence this term and is looking to put an end to that speculation by signing a new contract, thought to be worth £50,000 a week.
Hangeland put in a typically combative performance against Roma, which saw the home side concede an injury-time equaliser to deny them what would have been a memorable victory.
Fulham led the game for over an hour and also had Stephen Kelly sent off before seeing their dreams shattered by a 93rd-minute leveller.
Hangeland believes Fulham can take a lot of positives from the match to Manchester.
"If it wasn't for that last goal we would have been really pleased with our performance but that's something we have to take on board for the next few games," Hangeland said.
"We'll try and get ready for Sunday knowing that we did well and came close to beating a top-class team, so we will take confidence from that."
Danny Murphy and Dickson Etuhu have knee injuries, Andrew Johnson is struggling with a shoulder problem, while Kagisho Dikgacoi is still suspended following his sending-off at West Ham.
Simon Davies missed yesterday's draw with Roma but could make the squad after stepping up his rehabilitation from a foot injury.
Davies' last appearance came against City in the Carling Cup last month when Fulham took Hughes' side to extra-time despite fielding a weakened team.
Zoltan Gera opened the scoring that night with a 30-yard screamer and the Hungarian is adamant that Fulham will not be easy opponents.
"I'd love to repeat the goal, of course," Gera, who may start ahead of Damien Duff, said.
"It is a big game, Man City are a very good team so we need to play well there to get a good result
"They have good players going forward but I'm confident that we can get something from that game."
