Young Charlton goalkeeper Darren Randolph looks set to have a weekend to remember.
The Republic of Ireland youth international turns 20 on Saturday, and is expected to be in the Addicks starting line-up at Anfield 24 hours later as they sign off from the Premiership against Liverpool.
On-loan Scott Carson is ineligible to play against his parent club, which gives manager Alan Pardew a selection dilemma.
Veteran Norway international Thomas Myhre, 33, has not been in the squad over the past few months following the announcement he would return to former club Viking FK this summer.
Randolph - who spent a spell on loan at Gillingham earlier this season - has warmed the bench since the turn of the year and was again an unused substitute as relegation was confirmed following defeat by Tottenham on Monday night.
With the club preparing for life in the Coca-Cola Championship, there is perhaps no better time than now to blood the County Wicklow-born youngster.
Randolph would relish the chance to step out at Anfield and live his "dream".
"I am not 100% sure what the situation is with Thomas Myhre - but if I do play, it will be a mixture of relishing the opportunity and being a bag of nerves," he said.
"Any debut is special, but to make it at a place like Anfield would be a dream."
Randolph added: "It has helped a lot that I have been in the squad recently and travelled around with the team.
"It is the chance I have been waiting for and what I have wanted since I was very young, so I had better take it."
Randolph was called up into the senior Ireland party for the Euro 2008 qualifier in San Marino during February - and the 6ft 1in stopper has also won international recognition for basketball.
With England hopeful Carson now highly unlikely to return to The Valley and Championship football next season, Randolph could find himself a regular in the Charlton side.
For now, though, the youngster is taking things one step at a time.
"There is the possibility that the gaffer will go into the transfer market for a 'keeper as well, so I will not be building my hopes up too high," said Randolph.
"What I will be doing, however, is making sure I come back for pre-season in top shape and ready to go."
Defender Ben Thatcher will be available again at Liverpool tomorrow following his one-match suspension.
