Going For Goals!

Our Going For Goals team have picked out three matches in which they expect both teams to find the net this weekend.

West Ham can contribute to another thriller

Wigan v West Ham (BC)

Several Wigan players reckon they've played better than their results show and while that's open to debate, their last home game against Everton saw the Latics more than match their opponents.

Arouna Kone looks like scoring 15 or so goals this season and with Franco Di Santo finding form and confidence, we fancy Wigan to score as they have done in every home game bar their season-opener against Chelsea.

West Ham's recent exploits show that they've goals throughout their side and, as both teams have scored in each of their last five games, we're confident they'll contribute.

Ipswich v Sheffield Wednesday (CH)

Ipswich's dreadful run of form led to the departure of Paul Jewell this week but quite often a change in regime is what some players need so I feel Town will be fired up against vulnerable opposition this weekend.

The Tractor Boys' 2-1 defeat to Derby sent them to the bottom of the Championship with seven points from 12 games so Sheffield Wednesday, who are just a place above them, don't exactly have too much to fear either.

All in all, both sides will see this as a great opportunity to get a much-needed victory on the board and it could therefore be quite an open game.

Burton v Bradford (NH)

We have got Burton involved in this feature quite a few times during the current campaign and we have no hesitation in doing so again for Saturday's clash against Bradford.

Both teams have scored in the Brewers' last three games and they have scored six in one match during the season and conceded four in another so can be full of goals at both ends of the field.

Bradford sit in the play-offs after a good start to the season and this represents another good challenge for the promotion contenders.
