Almeria coach Unai Emery has dismissed speculation that he has agreed a deal to take over at Valencia in the summer as 'lies'.
Emery is hot property in Spain at the minute after leading Almeria to promotion from the Segunda Division last season and to within touching distance of a European spot in the current campaign.
That has led to reports linking Emery with a number of other clubs, including fallen giants Valencia who are looking to rebuild following a largely disappointing campaign that still could yet end in relegation.
Emery quashed any suggestion he has penned any agreement with Los Che though, saying: "That I have signed something with Valencia is a lie. It is a lie that Valencia have secured Unai Emery."
Almeria's dreams of a UEFA Cup spot have now vanished after taking just one point from a possible nine against lower-table sides Real Valladolid, Real Betis and Getafe recently.
However, they are still 10th and in with a chance of claiming an Intertoto Cup place as they try to plot the downfall of Andalusian rivals Recreativo Huelva this weekend.
"We have dropped back a little in the last couple of weeks, but whatever happens, we have had a great season and I am proud of my players," said Emery, who wants his side to put on a show for their fans this weekend at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterraneos.
"It is our last game at home and we not only want to win it but we want to have a good game to toast the supporters."
Emery also hit back at some of the disparaging comments about his team following Wednesday's 4-2 defeat against a Getafe side who had not won in their previous 11 competitive matches.
"Nobody should doubt our honesty," said Emery, whose team led 2-0 after just 10 minutes against Getafe before dramatically falling away. "We always go out to win - it is our philosophy and we are going to continue with that.
"It seems very unfair to me that they can doubt the professionalism of a team who are giving everything, as they have shown day in, day out."
Bruno Saltor returns from suspension for Almeria, but Carlos Garcia and Corona both serve bans of their own, while Felipe Melo is a doubt for the clash.
While Almeria are still fighting for a top-seven finish, Recreativo are battling desperately to avoid the drop.
Manuel Zambrano's side dominated much of Wednesday's home game with second-placed Villarreal, but they were undone by two quality second-half strikes and now sit just above the relegation zone, with the same number of points (40) as 18th-placed Osasuna.
Despite his side's worrying predicament, Zambrano remains optimistic aout their chances of playing top-flight football next season.
"If we get the six points from our last two games, we will stay up," said Zambrano, whose team meet fellow strugglers Real Valladolid in their final match.
Carlos Martins looks set to miss out once again for Recre, while Rafael Barber is sidelined for the rest of the season after picking up an injury against Villarreal.
