Valencia captain Carlos Marchena has urged his team to get over their cup heartbreak quickly in order to concentrate on their push back up the Primera Liga table.
Sevilla ended Valencia's Copa del Rey dreams on away goals after Thursday's quarter-final tie ended 4-4 on aggregate.
It was the latest blow for Los Che, who are going through a sticky patch at present having lost four of their past five league matches.
Last week's shock 3-1 defeat at struggling Real Mallorca saw them miss the chance to close the gap on third-placed Sevilla - who lost to Racing Santander - to one point.
However, Marchena is confident Valencia are about to turn things around.
"The team are looking good," he said. "We are strong and solid and really want to win on Sunday to change this negative run and create a new page.
"The dressing room is united and we all have the same aim, which is to take Valencia as high as possible.
"What's good for one person is good for all and collectively we only want to make the most of everything and win.
"We have to keep on the same path, working as hard as possible, but change the result.
Against Almeria we have a good chance in an important match to turn around our series of defeats.
"Sooner rather than later we'll play much better."
Coach Unai Emery has been given a huge boost by the news leading striker David Villa is fit again after recovering from a leg injury which forced him out of the first leg of their cup tie after just 20 minutes.
Valencia are still without injured goalkeeper Renan Brito so Cesar Sanchez, a recent signing from Tottenham, could make his league debut.
Raul Albiol, Luis Miguel Brito and Hedwiges Maduro are all sidelined as is long-term absentee Alexis, while Fernando Morientes is a doubt after limping out of training on Friday.
Almeria have been moving the right way up the table under new coach Hugo Sanchez who took over following the winter break.
Sanchez has led Almeria to two wins and two draws in his four league matches to date, a run which has pushed them to 13th in the table, seven points off the relegation zone.
And the Mexican coach is hoping to continue that streak at the Mestalla.
"We have to take advantage of the situation Valencia are in following their Copa del Rey elimination," he said. "They could be affected mentally and physically by the game against Sevilla, while we are fine and very motivated.
"However, we respect Valencia to the max, they are a team who have great potential and for that reason the match will be very difficult.
"The time is right to get a positive result and we will work to the maximum to get it, even though it will be very difficult."
Julio Alvarez has recovered from a bout of gastroenteritis, which means Sanchez has the luxury of a full-strength squad to choose from for the trip to Valencia.
