Valencia midfielder David Silva has pulled out of Spain's upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header due to an ankle problem.

The 22-year-old headed back to Valencia on Tuesday after undergoing tests on his injured left ankle.

Coach Vicente del Bosque will not call up a replacement for Silva for Saturday's clash with Bosnia-Herzegovina and Wednesday's game against Armenia.

Del Bosque on Monday called up Barcelona youngster Bojan in place of Liverpool frontman Fernando Torres, who is sidelined with a torn hamstring.
