Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Andres Guardado is set to miss the remainder of the Primera Liga season because of injury.
The 21-year-old Mexico international received the results of a scan on his thigh problem on Tuesday and it is estimated he will be sidelined for around six weeks.
Guardado, who also suffered an injury in February that kept him out for five weeks, told Spanish daily Marca: "I have never had an injury and now I have had two in succession.
"These are new situations for me, but I need to look forward. It is sad that I will miss almost all of the second half of the season, but I am young and there is still time ahead to get over what has happened in the second half of this season."
Guardado has started 22 of Depor's 30 league games this season and is the Galician side's second top-scorer with five goals.
Depor are currently 15th in the standings, four points above third-bottom Recreativo Huelva and the relegation zone with eight games remaining.
