AC Milan admit they are unlikely to sign Brazil starlet Alexandre Pato this summer.
The Rossoneri have expressed an interest in the 17-year-old Internacional forward, who is also a reported Chelsea target.
The European champions are still looking to acquire a striker but the £10million-rated Brazilian is considered too expensive for the Rossoneri.
"(Coach Carlo) Ancelotti tells me that Pato is a very talented youngster," said Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.
"But he is young and I believe that certain amounts cannot be spent on a young player because it's not written that he will become the next Kaka."
Pato won the Copa Libertadores and the FIFA World Club Championship last year and has been talked about as the next Kaka.
The player, in action in the Under-20 World Cup in Canada, is contracted to Internacional until 2009.
