Italy midfielder Daniele De Rossi has hinted he may leave Roma in the summer.

De Rossi, along with Francesco Totti and Simone Perrotta, is one of the three mainstays of the Eternal City outfit and also played in the World Cup-winning side.

However, the 23-year-old midfielder is keeping open the possibility of a move away from Rome.

"I would like to stay here, I like it a lot, but in football you never know what could happen," De Rossi told journalists after the goalless draw with Lazio in the city derby on Sunday.

"I want to stay at Roma but I can't make any promises. My will is to remain with Roma, it has always been my dream since I started playing," added the midfielder, who is contracted to the club until 2009.

"However, I wouldn't stake my life on my future here, because there are many factors which might affect my decisions, some of them that are not under my control.

"As you all know, in football nothing can be taken for granted."
