Internazionale's quest for a treble is still on course.
The Nerazzurri beat Sampdoria 3-0 on Wednesday in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final match at Samp's Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Luis Figo had an outstanding game for Inter and had a hand in all three goals with Nicolas Burdisso scoring twice and Hernan Crespo adding the other.
Figo created the opener after nine minutes when he centred and Burdisso had the simple task of netting from close range at the far post.
Crespo headed the second after 24 minutes after more good work from Figo who then also helped Burdisso make it 3-0 after the break.
Carlo Zotti in the Samp goal kept the scoreline down with some fine saves.
However, only a miracle can now prevent Inter from booking a final date with the winners of the other semi-final between AC Milan and Roma.
Inter are 11 points clear at the top of Serie A and look odds-on to defend their domestic title while they will play Valencia of Spain in the last 16 of the Champions League.
