Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone has come out in support of the temperamental Antonio Cassano.
The Italian striker threatened to leave the club after being booed by a section of the Samp fans during Sunday's goalless result with Bari.
When asked if Cassano would have to explain his comments, Garrone said: "There is no need for the player to call me.
"Cassano has expressed the disappointment of the whole team.
"I am worried and upset by a small group of fans. I understand Cassano's anger.
"I have not spoken to him but if he needs my forgiveness, he already has it."
Samp are level on 21 points with Juventus and seven behind Serie A leaders Inter Milan.
