Lyon completed the signing of France defender Jean-Alain Boumsong on Saturday night.
Boumsong joins Les Gones from Juventus for 3 million euros and has signed a three-and-half-year deal at Stade Gerland.
He will hope the switch to the six-time defending French champions will resurrect his career.
The 28-year-old endured a nightmare spell at Newcastle before joining Juve and has struggled to hold down a regular place under Claudio Ranieri.
He made his name at Le Havre and Auxerre before moving to Scottish side Rangers and then Newcastle.
